The method is named after a 25-minute kitchen timer shaped like a tomato. The technique was invented by an Italian student, Francesco Cirillo, when he decided to start learning, losing a minimum of time.

The rules are simple: choose a task for the next 25 minutes. If the task is too big to handle in such a short period of time, break it down into several steps.
Set a timer and work for 25 minutes. Work and do not be distracted by anything. Nothing is so urgent that it can’t wait 25 minutes.
During rest, whether short 5-minute or long 30-minute, try to change the type of activity. Get up from the table. Take a walk to the fridge, but try not to think about work.
